God looked down through time and saw a child whom His favor would be granted and through His plan would be fulfilled. That man of valor, vigilance, and vision is our pastor, Elder David Lewis Jones. He has a tremendous passion for God’s word coupled with a love for God’s people. He has a contagious and charismatic spirit that flows through every facet of his personality and ministry.

Having received his mandate from God, Elder Jones obediently fulfils his calling as a Pastor of Church of Christ Temple and Senior Founder of More Excellent Ministries. This man of God is a powerful preacher, teacher of God’s word and a tremendous inspiration to everyone and is totally dedicated to the work of God.

Elder Jones started early dedicating his life in the service of God as a junior Deacon of the Mount Pleasant Baptist church in Herndon Virginia. It was evident that God had His hands on Him as He guided him through service to Him. Elder Jones received the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues at the age of nineteen years old and began a ministry of laying hands on the sick for those to be healed. Raised in the Northern Virginia community, he received love and nurturing from his mother, Bernadette Elizabeth Jones. Having been converted at an early age, he developed a passion for praying and God later called him into the preaching ministry.

He confessed his calling and preached his first sermon on March 4th 1994 at Tried Stone Church under the leadership of Apostle Randolph S. Witcher and was ordained into ministry through the laying on of hands. Elder Jones’ early education was in the school system Herndon High School where he received his Diploma in 1987. He continued his education at Harvest Christian Bible College and was very studious.

Faith, patience, love, humility and influence motivate him to respond to the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ. Elder Jones believes that only what you do for Christ will last. Elder Jones labors in Christs’ vineyard on an on going basis. He states that he is born-again, and is Spirit filled, Spirit led, a prophetic pastor preacher teacher who is born of God, engrafted into Christ and is a habitation of the Holy Spirit of God. God is his light and Jesus is the strength of his life, and he has no fear. He believes in one lord, one faith and one baptism. He believes Jesus is the only way to God and no other, is the feature, focus and function in his ministry. He is not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ because he knows that it is the power of salvation to everyone that believes.
